Notes from the Vicarage
April 2011 From the Vicarage I’ve done an unforgivable thing – in spite of repeated and heartfelt pleas from the most patient of Editors I have deliberately delayed writing this article. The deadline has come and gone and I have not yet sent this piece in. Many apologies Pat – you have been more then patient but the truth is that this was article which I did not want to write because it’s my last one. It’s a farewell and if there’s one thing I hate it’s ‘goodbye’. In fact I go to incredible lengths to avoid having to say it, using phrases like ‘Well, see you’ and ‘Till the next time’. However, like an old aunt of mine always used to say, “Well, if there weren’t any partings, there wouldn’t be any meetings” so do stay in touch with Anne and I, do call and see us in Pembrokeshire. My time here has been a lot less than I had planned but we do seem to have covered an awful lot of ground in a short time, witness that article I did in ‘Our Way’ only a short time ago about giving yourselves a pat on the back and giving thanks for all that we achieve when we believe that the Holy Spirit is with us. I want to thank you for all that you meant to me, all the things which I have learned from you and the many things which I will take forward with me into my next post, my next step on a vocational pathway which began so many years ago now. Thank you for the fellowship, love and support which you have offered to Anne and me from Day One. Thanks for the cake(s), the laughter, the social events and our times of worship together. Do think of us sometimes and remember us in your prayers as we will most certainly do with you. Your Friend and Vicar ---- Keith
